MEET THE FOUNDER

My goal was simple: To create the highest quality craft Cannabis products on the market.   

 

Hey everyone! My name is Steve VanDeWalle and I am the Founder and CEO of Nesstiva. I have been a Cannabis consumer for the past 10 years, but it wasn’t until 2017 when I started looking at Cannabis as an alternative to pharmaceuticals.

At the time, I was taking a prescribed daily regimen of ADHD, insomnia, and anti-anxiety/depression drugs and found myself going down a very dark road. I knew I had to make a big life change, and started exploring alternative treatment options.

 

A good friend of mine introduced me to CBD, and encouraged me to use it before bed as a sleep aid. With nothing to lose, I gave it a shot -- and within 40 days I had weaned myself off of 90% of the pharmaceuticals I was using at the time.

These drastic, life-changing results inspired me to look deeper into the science behind Cannabis medicine. It was at that moment that I devoted my entire life to educating myself on the therapeutic properties of Cannabis, with the hope that one day I could help other people who struggle with the same issues that I once had.

As I became a daily user of CBD, I quickly realized how saturated the market had become with low-quality products that lacked integrity, transparency, and proper consumer education. — so I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I believe in working with small-scale, environmentally conscious, traditional farms. I believe in using best practice manufacturing principles and never cutting corners. I believe that nourishing your body’s endocannabinoid system will lead to a healthier and happier you.

In my free time I enjoy gardening, consuming Cannabis, and hosting my podcast — Cannabis Cum Laude. I am an avid reader and believe in lifelong education. I have a B.S. in Brain and Cognitive Psychology from the University of Rochester and an MBA from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester. I am triple-certified from Green Flower in Medical Applications of Cannabis, Extraction, and Cannabis Cultivation.
